Journeys achieved healthy growth across athletic lifestyle and casual shoes, particularly in sandals, boots, low-profile and lifestyle running categories, with female consumers now accounting for well over 50% of sales.
Genesco’s Footwear First strategy targets the back-to-school season with trend-driven assortments and the new Life On Loud campaign featuring celebrities and influencers, supported by a substantial increase in media spend to boost brand awareness and customer acquisition.
The company plans to double its Journeys 4.0 footprint by adding 90 stores this year, with two-thirds as remodels and the remainder comprising relocations to larger formats and new openings to accelerate growth.
