1. Stipulated Rate Reduction Agreement

Georgia Power and Georgia PSC staff negotiated a stipulated agreement expected to lower the base rate for residential customers. Pending formal commission approval later this month, a household using 1,000 kWh per month will see $4.04 in monthly savings, totaling nearly $50 annually from June onward.

2. Customer Energy Efficiency Programs

The utility is promoting free and low-cost energy-saving resources, including the EASE Program which provides LED bulbs, HVAC servicing and attic insulation to income-qualified homes. Digital tools like My Power Usage and Threshold Alerts allow customers to monitor hourly usage and set consumption alerts to avoid billing surprises during high-use periods.

3. Growth, Cost Spreading and Future Savings

An influx of large-load customers such as data centers has enabled Georgia Power to freeze base rates and spread fixed costs across a broader customer base. This growth underpins a commitment to deliver $102 in annual savings for the typical residential customer beginning in 2029.
