BERLIN, Sept 15 (Reuters) - German Finance Minister Lars Klingbeil said on Tuesday that the burden of gasoline prices must be reduced and alternative funding must be found.
Klingbeil added that decisions must be reached quickly and that he did not yet know Chancellor Friedrich Merz's proposals on energy prices.
The Social Democrat also advocated for a tax on energy companies' windfall profits on Tuesday in response to rising fuel prices.
