German inflation accelerates slightly more than expected in September

Germany’s inflation accelerated in September, with preliminary data showing the harmonised consumer price index up 3.3% year over year, compared with 2.9% in August. Energy inflation rose to 14.9% from 10.5%, while core inflation remained at 2.4% for a third consecutive month.
