Ginkgo Bioworks expands autonomous lab network to Caltech, MIT, Maryland and Northwestern
DNA•Expanded autonomous lab network
Ginkgo Bioworks expanded its autonomous lab network with four new cloud-accessible lab initiatives at Caltech, MIT, Maryland and Northwestern.
The projects add new nodes to NSF’s PCL Test Bed network; the MIT Media Lab node is funded via a Massachusetts Life Sciences Center grant.
The deployment plan calls for Reconfigurable Automation Carts with Catalyst Software to enable remote, “walk-away” lab automation.
The Maryland node is slated for about 11 automation carts, while the Northwestern node is slated for five, extending Ginkgo’s installed automation footprint.
