Licensing collaboration for fungal protein production
Ginkgo Bioworks entered a licensing collaboration with Acies Bio to expand global access to engineered Aspergillus niger strains for industrial protein production.
The deal gives Acies customers licensed access to Ginkgo’s fungal chassis strains, paired with Acies strain development, bioprocess scale-up, validation, and manufacturing.
Acies will use its SmartRoute integration to move programs from strain to industrial output at its facility with up to 30 m3 fermentation volumes.
