GlobalFoundries partners with RAAAM to develop gain-cell RAM on FDX platform
GFS•Performance targets and customer interest
The companies project a 40% memory area shrink and up to 60% lower memory power versus SRAM using “pushed” design rules.
GCRAM design access is slated for lead customers in early 2027, targeting edge AI, automotive and IoT demand for denser on-chip memory.
NXP is evaluating the GCRAM solution as the partners move toward broader customer engagement.
Collaboration on Gain-Cell RAM development
GlobalFoundries formed a collaboration with RAAAM Memory Technologies to develop and qualify Gain-Cell RAM (GCRAM) on its FDX FD-SOI platform.
A GCRAM test vehicle has taped out on FDX, marking a key milestone toward product qualification.
