GM Secures 10,000-Ton Magnet Supply under $110/kg Pentagon Guarantee
General Motors is one of the launch customers for MP Materials’ planned Northlake, Texas magnet campus, which will produce up to 10,000 metric tons annually by 2028 under a Pentagon-backed $110/kg price guarantee. A separate feature on a 37th-floor New York power lunch venue offers no operational or valuation relevance for GM.
1. Rare Earth Magnet Supply Partnership
General Motors has agreed to offtake rare earth magnets from MP Materials' upcoming Northlake, Texas facility, securing part of the 10,000 metric ton annual capacity planned by 2028. The production is backed by a Department of Defense price protection agreement that guarantees a floor price of $110 per kilogram.
2. Unrelated New York Venue Feature
A separate media feature highlights a 37th-floor power lunch venue in New York, but this has no bearing on General Motors’ operations, supply chain, or market valuation.
