Gogo Unit Lands $7.5M Multi-Year NOAA Contract for Hurricane Hunter Communications
GOGO•SD Government, a Gogo unit, won a $7.5 million multi-year blanket purchase agreement with NOAA to supply L-Band satellite communications, ground infrastructure, and cybersecurity services for the agency’s WP-3D “Hurricane Hunter” aircraft. The contract includes deployment of FlightDeck Freedom datalink software and data center support for real-time storm data transmission.

SD Government, a Gogo company, secured a $7.5 million multi-year blanket purchase agreement with the Department of Commerce’s NOAA. The BPA will support the NOAA Aircraft Operations Center’s WP-3D ‘Hurricane Hunter’ fleet, including Lockheed Martin WP-3D aircraft “Kermit” and “Miss Piggy.”

The agreement covers L-Band satellite communications, ground infrastructure, and cybersecurity services delivered through Gogo’s Melbourne, Florida data center. It also includes deployment of Gogo’s FlightDeck Freedom cockpit datalink software suite to ensure reliable, streamlined flight communications during hurricane missions.
