Gold subdued as rate outlook weighs
Sept. 23 (Reuters) - Gold prices were subdued on Wednesday as investors weighed the prospect of major central banks keeping interest rates elevated for longer in their efforts to curb persistent inflation.

Spot gold XAU= was little changed at $4,356.92 per ounce, as of 0040 GMT. U.S. gold futures GCcv1 for December delivery were up 0.4% at $4,394.90.

Boston Federal Reserve President Susan Collins wrote that she supported the U.S. central bank's decision last week to raise interest rates in the face of risks that future inflation will be above the 2% target.
