Google Cloud to Host Apple Intelligence on Nvidia GPUs, Boosting PCC Expansion
Apple is expanding Private Cloud Compute beyond its own data centers by deploying Nvidia GPU–equipped Google Cloud servers to power Apple Intelligence and revamped Siri features. Nvidia’s Confidential Computing GPUs will handle confidential inference and server-side processing for Apple Foundation Models on Google Cloud.
1. Apple Expands PCC to Google Cloud
At WWDC, Apple announced it will extend its Private Cloud Compute infrastructure to Google Cloud for the first time, enabling Apple Intelligence workloads—such as Siri and new foundation models—to run outside Apple’s own data centers.
2. Nvidia GPUs Provide Confidential AI Processing
Google Cloud servers will leverage Nvidia’s AI accelerators with Confidential Computing technology, creating a hardware-based security layer that isolates sensitive inference tasks and verifies system integrity during processing.
3. Strategic Impact on Google Cloud
Securing Apple’s AI workloads enhances Google Cloud’s enterprise appeal and deepens its partnership with Nvidia, potentially boosting cloud revenue growth and positioning Google more competitively against AWS and Azure.
