Google and SpaceX signed a three-year agreement running October 2026 through June 2029 under which Google will pay SpaceX $920 million monthly for access to roughly 110,000 NVIDIA GPUs, CPUs and memory at SpaceX’s Memphis data centers. The capacity will ramp up through September at a reduced fee and leverages infrastructure originally built for xAI’s Colossus campus following the merger earlier in 2026; Google sees this as bridge capacity to support surging demand for its Gemini Enterprise platform.
Google financed a 100 MW virtual power plant in the Mid-Atlantic region in collaboration with Voltus, marking the first adoption of Voltus’s “bring your own capacity” program. Under this model, Voltus aggregates distributed energy resources—from electric vehicles to smart thermostats—and compensates households and businesses to curtail consumption during peak periods, delivering guaranteed grid flexibility without building new generation infrastructure.
