Google Rolls Out Gemini 3.5 Live Translate and Secures €920M/Month SpaceX Compute Deal
GOOG•Alphabet launches Gemini 3.5 Live Translate for real-time speech-to-speech translations in over 70 languages, streaming natural-sounding audio seconds behind the speaker without pauses. The company agreed to rent SpaceX’s AI supercomputers for €920 million per month over 32 months, securing 110,000 Nvidia GPUs from October 2026 to June 2029.
1. Gemini 3.5 Live Translate Upgrade
Alphabet has introduced Gemini 3.5 Live Translate, a real-time speech translation feature capable of detecting over 70 languages and preserving a speaker’s tone, pacing and pitch. Unlike traditional turn-based systems, the model generates continuous translated speech just seconds behind live input, and is accessible through the Gemini Live API, Google AI Studio, Google Meet and Translate on mobile.
2. SpaceX Compute Rental Agreement
Alphabet has entered a 32-month agreement to rent SpaceX’s AI data center capacity for €920 million per month, securing access to 110,000 Nvidia GPUs between October 2026 and June 2029. This deal locks in large-scale compute resources to support the expansion of Gemini and other AI services to address escalating compute demand.
