Google signs 20-year deal with Constellation to add 890 MW of new nuclear capacity to PJM grid
CEG•Constellation signed a 20-year power purchase agreement with Google to add 890 MW of nuclear capacity to PJM, with the first incremental capacity expected by 2028. Constellation plans more than $4.3 billion in investment tied to the agreement.
1. Planned nuclear capacity
The investments target efficiency uprates at 11 nuclear units in Illinois, Pennsylvania and New Jersey. Constellation said the planned investment supports 4,400 jobs and creates about 7,200 construction jobs. A separate 15-year deal covers 2,700 MW from Constellation’s existing PJM fleet, while an expanded five-year technology alliance includes Google Cloud and Gemini Enterprise.
