Grains-Soybeans turn higher as soymeal surges; corn, wheat futures sag
SOYB•Trade talks keep Chinese demand in focus
The run-up to next week's meeting between presidents Donald Trump and Xi Jinping kept attention on Chinese demand for U.S. soy. U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said on Tuesday that he planned to meet his Chinese counterpart He Lifeng this weekend, ahead of the leaders' meeting next week.
Corn and wheat ease on subdued grain trade
Corn and wheat futures declined, consolidating below three-year highs set earlier this month.
Grain markets were more subdued, pressured by a sluggish crude oil market and lingering hopes of a diplomatic breakthrough to ease disruptions to Black Sea grain trade.
CBOT December corn was down 1-1/4 cents at $5.33 a bushel and December wheat was down 1-1/4 cents at $7.29-1/2 a bushel.
