GRAINS-Wheat slips to 4-week low as dollar and Ukraine diplomacy weigh
DBA•Wheat falls to four-week low
PARIS/BEIJING, Sept. 23 (Reuters) - Chicago wheat futures extended their fall on Wednesday to a four-week low, pressured by a rising dollar and hopes that diplomatic efforts could ease Black Sea export disruption linked to Russia's war with Ukraine, analysts said.
Corn and soybeans eased further after approaching three-year highs this week, with investors waiting to see if a U.S.-China summit on Thursday yields progress in agricultural trade.
The most traded wheat contract Wv1 on the Chicago Board of Trade was down 1% at $7.10-1/4 a bushel by 1147 GMT, falling for a second session.
The benchmark earlier fell to its lowest since Aug. 26 at $7.06.
Dollar strength pressures U.S. grains
Strength in the dollar index =USD, which has risen to its highest since late July after last Wednesday's interest rate increase by the U.S. Federal Reserve, was also pressuring U.S. grains by making them dearer for overseas buyers. FRX/
