Granite Construction wins $51.5 million contract for Southern California rail sidings
GVA•Granite Construction won a $51.5 million contract from Metrolink to build two rail sidings under Southern California’s SCORE program. Construction is expected to begin in January 2027 and finish in July 2028.
1. Rail sidings contract
Granite Construction will build two rail sidings for Metrolink, one near downtown Los Angeles and the other in Rancho Cucamonga. The projects are expected to increase regional rail capacity, with construction scheduled to begin in January 2027 and finish in July 2028.
2. Capacity for future demand
The improvements are part of Southern California’s SCORE program and are intended to support transportation needs for the 2028 Los Angeles Olympic and Paralympic Games, as well as longer-term rail demand.
