Graphic Packaging launches logistics initiative targeting transport efficiency, lower emissions
GPK•Graphic Packaging launched a transportation and logistics initiative under its Better, Every Day sustainability strategy, targeting lower emissions through carrier selection, transport mode shifts, alternative fuels and network optimization. Pilots include eight renewable natural gas trucks on the Chicago–Kalamazoo corridor and electric trucks in Portland and the UK.
1. Logistics pilots
The initiative targets transport efficiency and lower emissions through carrier selection, mode shifts, alternative fuels and network optimization to reduce empty miles and increase trailer utilization. Pilots include eight renewable natural gas trucks on the Chicago–Kalamazoo corridor, two electric trucks on short-haul Portland routes and two electric heavy goods vehicles on routes between the East Midlands and North East in the UK.
