Quarterly results and investment income
Great Elm Capital posted Q2 net investment income of $4.5 million, or $0.32 a share, down from $0.36 a share in the prior quarter.
Earnings swung to $0.46 a share from a loss of $0.05 a share in Q1; net investment gains were $1.9 million, or $0.14 a share.
Total investment income climbed to $10.9 million from $9.5 million quarter-on-quarter, driven by a $2 million dividend from insurance-related preference shares.
