Greenbrier disputes UTLX trade petition seeking duties on railway tank cars
GBX•Greenbrier rejected UTLX petitions seeking antidumping and countervailing duties on certain railway tank cars and parts, citing more than $500 million invested in Arkansas operations since 2019.
1. Greenbrier contests petition
Greenbrier said it will defend its record before the U.S. Department of Commerce and the U.S. International Trade Commission. It disputed claims that it abandoned U.S. tank car production, saying its Marmaduke, Arkansas, facility builds tank cars, and denied allegations of unfair pricing or subsidies.
2. Investment and standards
Greenbrier cited more than $500 million invested in Arkansas operations since 2019 and said it complies with U.S. Department of Transportation and Association of American Railroads standards.
