Grove Collaborative Launches Curated 500-Product Unplastic Shop to Reduce EDC Exposure
Grove Collaborative and Oceanic Preservation Society have introduced The Unplastic Shop, featuring about 500 vetted products across home categories that meet strict criteria excluding BPA, PFAS, EDCs and plastic packaging. The online shop offers room-by-room curation, educational content and starter sets to reduce daily microplastic exposure.
1. Partnership Launch
Grove Collaborative and Oceanic Preservation Society launched The Unplastic Shop on March 16, 2026, as a curated shopping destination to help consumers reduce plastic exposure in everyday routines. The platform features about 500 products selected against joint vetting criteria spanning kitchen, personal care, cleaning, laundry, baby, pet and household essentials.
2. Product Criteria
Products in The Unplastic Shop must exclude BPA, PFAS and other endocrine-disrupting chemicals, avoid any plastic touching ingestible items and employ reduced-plastic or plastic-free packaging. All items meet Grove’s internal standards and benchmarks developed in partnership with OPS.
3. Shop Features
The Unplastic Shop offers room-by-room navigation, education-first content—including “Top 10 Tips to Unplastic Your Life”—and starter sets designed for high-frequency routine upgrades. The curated approach simplifies essential product swaps without requiring consumers to eliminate all plastic at once.
4. Health Implications
Emerging research links microplastics and certain chemical additives to potential fertility, cardiovascular and developmental risks through repeated low-level exposure. The Unplastic Shop focuses on high-impact categories such as food storage, cookware, oral care and laundry to mitigate cumulative exposure over time.
