Guardant Health secured a multi-year collaboration with Merck to deploy its Infinity Smart liquid and tissue biopsy platform in global clinical trials, co-commercializing companion diagnostics across US, EU, UK and Asia-Pacific. Analysts project FY2025 revenue of $981 million (+33% YoY) with a 335% year-over-year surge in Shield colorectal screening volumes.
1. Multi-Year Strategic Collaboration with Merck
Guardant Health has entered into a multi-year agreement with Merck to leverage its Guardant Infinity Smart platform in the development and commercialization of Merck’s oncology portfolio. Under the deal, Guardant’s liquid and tissue biopsy assays will serve as enrolling tests across Merck’s global clinical trials, providing molecular clarity for patient selection. The companies will also explore new targeted therapies using Guardant’s liquid biopsies as companion diagnostics and plan a joint global launch of approved drugs and assays in the US, Europe, UK and Asia–Pacific markets. Guardant’s co-CEO Helmy Eltoukhy emphasized that the partnership will accelerate trial enrollment and therapy development for critical oncology programs through rigorous molecular profiling at scale.
2. Shield Colorectal Cancer Screening Fuels Commercial Expansion
Guardant’s Shield blood-based colorectal cancer screening test achieved a 335% year-over-year increase in screening volumes over the past twelve months, driven by its recent collaboration with Quest Diagnostics. Under this agreement, Shield will be offered through more than 2,200 Quest patient service centers, expanding access to an estimated 50 million eligible Americans who currently face barriers to screening. Preliminary fourth-quarter results show 39% year-over-year revenue growth to approximately 280 million dollars, contributing to a full-year 2025 top line of 981 million dollars, a 33% increase over the prior fiscal year and comfortably outpacing peer growth rates in the oncology diagnostics space.
