Hawaiian Airlines Launches July 1 Main Cabin Pre-order Dining with Chef Sheldon Simeon
ALK•Starting July 1, Hawaiian Airlines will offer Main Cabin pre-order dining on most U.S.-Hawai'i flights with menus curated by James Beard finalist Sheldon Simeon. Guests can order meals up to two weeks in advance and enjoy complimentary local snacks from Anahola Granola and Diamond Bakery in compostable packaging.
1. Launch of Main Cabin Pre-order Dining
Starting July 1, Hawaiian Airlines will introduce a new Main Cabin pre-order dining program on most flights between Hawai'i and the U.S. mainland. Through the Alaska Hawaiian mobile app or website, passengers can select and purchase meals up to two weeks before departure, replacing the single standard meal model.
2. Collaboration with Chef Sheldon Simeon
Menus are curated by James Beard Award finalist Chef Sheldon Simeon, featuring island-inspired dishes such as mochiko chicken, teriyaki chicken bento and corned beef hash with eggs. These meals highlight Simeon’s signature sauces and toppings and are prepared within 12 hours of departure to ensure freshness.
3. Introduction of Local Snack Partners
In addition to the purchasable meals, all guests will receive complimentary snacks sourced from Hawai'i brands Anahola Granola and Diamond Bakery. Premium Class guests will also enjoy a Kaua'i-based tropical granola bar and local sweet treats served before arrival.
4. Sustainability and Loyalty Offer
Most meal and snack packaging is compostable or recyclable to align production with actual demand and reduce waste. Huakaʻi by Hawaiian members who sign up by June 24 will receive their first two Main Cabin pre-order meals free as a mahalo for loyalty.
