Crews restored service to more than 1,400 customers since the prior day across multiple communities.
Mutual-aid resources expanded, including additional utility trucks and equipment delivered to Hilo to support restoration work.
Full restoration is targeted by Sept. 8 in the hardest-hit Kau areas, with many customers expected back sooner.
