1. Chairman’s Fourth Consecutive Davos Participation Highlights AI and Energy Strategy

HD Hyundai’s Chairman Chung Kisun attended the 2026 World Economic Forum Annual Meeting in Davos for the fourth straight year, engaging in high-level discussions on AI-driven industrial transformation and the future of the energy sector. The meeting, held January 19–23 under the theme “A Spirit of Dialogue,” featured sessions on enhancing energy system resilience, improving accessibility, and embedding artificial intelligence in renewable and traditional energy infrastructures. Chung underscored the importance of integrating AI analytics into decision-making frameworks to support HD Hyundai’s transition toward cleaner energy solutions and to address potential global growth headwinds caused by shifting geopolitical dynamics.

2. Expanded Palantir Partnership to Accelerate Digital Transformation Across Affiliates

On January 20, Chairman Chung met with Palantir CEO Alex Karp to formalize an expansion of their strategic alliance, extending Palantir’s Foundry and Artificial Intelligence Platform (AIP) beyond HD Hyundai Oilbank into shipbuilding, offshore operations, construction equipment, electric systems, robotics and marine aftermarket services. Since their initial collaboration in 2021, the group has deployed Palantir’s big-data solutions across core divisions, yielding measurable improvements in refinery throughput optimization, predictive maintenance accuracy and sensor data analysis. The new agreement includes the establishment of a joint Center of Excellence to embed advanced data analytics and AI workflows across all HD Hyundai affiliates, with the goal of reducing operational bottlenecks and enabling real-time, data-driven decision making at scale.
