Health Net Suspends Prescription Limits and Waives Authorizations After LA Fire
CNC•Health Net has activated emergency protocols after a Los Angeles warehouse fire, suspending prescription refill limits and authorizing out-of-network pharmacy fills for impacted members. The plan also offers free telehealth, 24/7 behavioral health support, extended provider notification deadlines and waived prior authorizations for acute and post-acute care.
1. State of Emergency Response
Following the state declaration, Health Net mobilized relief efforts for members and providers affected by the Palos warehouse fire in Los Angeles County. This includes immediate suspension of refill limits and authorization of out-of-network pharmacy access for emergency prescriptions.
2. Member Support Measures
Impacted members can secure emergency medication supplies at original or alternate pharmacies, access free 24/7 telehealth appointments and call behavioral health services for stress or trauma support. Additional resources include referrals for mental health counseling and connections to social services for shelter, food and legal guidance.
3. Provider Assistance Provisions
Participating providers receive extended grace periods for acute services, durable medical equipment and home health care notifications, along with waived prior authorizations. Health Net will authorize out-of-network care if in-network providers are unavailable and accept updated documentation for continued-stay reviews.
