Health Net Waives Authorizations and Refill Limits After LA Warehouse Fire
CNC•Following Los Angeles County’s State of Emergency declaration, Health Net will suspend prescription refill limits and authorize out-of-network pharmacy fills for affected members. The plan extends grace periods for notifications, waives prior authorizations and provides crisis counseling and no-cost telehealth visits to ensure care continuity.
1. Emergency Prescription Measures
During the declared State of Emergency, Health Net will suspend refill limitations and allow members to get emergency supplies at original or out-of-network pharmacies. Impacted members can call Health Net to arrange pharmacy access if their usual location is closed.
2. Behavioral and Telehealth Support
Health Net Behavioral Health Services offers 24/7 crisis counseling for grief, stress or trauma, and provides referrals to mental health professionals. Members unable to reach primary care can use no-cost telehealth services via video appointments after online registration.
3. Provider Assistance and Authorization Waivers
Participating doctors and nurse practitioners in affected areas can access extended grace periods for admission and post-acute notifications. Health Net will waive prior authorizations, authorize out-of-network services if in-network providers are unavailable, and accept updated documentation for continued-stay reviews.
4. Ongoing Response and Updates
Health Net will monitor the situation and may implement additional measures to support members and providers. Updates on assistance programs and access procedures will be posted on the company’s member portal as the response evolves.
