Nvidia Picks Hesai’s ETX Lidar for Hyperion 10 Platform Delivering 2,000 FP4 Teraflops
Hesai Technology was chosen by Nvidia as the lidar supplier for its DRIVE AGX Hyperion 10 platform, integrating Hesai’s ETX ultra-long-range lidar into a system delivering over 2,000 FP4 teraflops for real-time Level 4 autonomy development. Hesai also announced expansion into 3D motion-capture sensing use cases.
1. Hesai Selected for NVIDIA DRIVE AGX Hyperion 10
Hesai Technology confirmed its selection by NVIDIA as the exclusive lidar partner for the DRIVE AGX Hyperion 10 reference platform, an integrated compute-and-sensor solution aimed at accelerating Level 4 autonomous vehicle development. The collaboration integrates Hesai’s high-resolution lidar units into a unified architecture alongside cameras, radar and ultrasonic sensors, allowing automakers and Tier 1 suppliers to validate perception and safety systems on a production-oriented framework.
2. Platform Capabilities Enhance Sensor Fusion
The DRIVE AGX Hyperion 10 platform leverages two NVIDIA DRIVE AGX Thor systems-on-a-chip based on the Blackwell architecture, delivering over 2,000 FP4 teraflops of processing power. This enables real-time, 360-degree fusion of multisensor data, with Hesai’s lidar contributing critical long-range spatial resolution for object detection at speeds exceeding 100 km/h in urban and highway environments.
3. ETX Ultra-Long-Range Lidar for L3 and L4 Applications
Hesai will deploy its ETX ultra-long-range lidar on the Hyperion 10 platform, a modular unit designed for seamless vehicle integration. Offering an effective range beyond 200 meters and angular resolution down to 0.04 degrees, the ETX meets stringent automotive reliability standards and supports both roof-mounted and windshield-integrated configurations for production vehicles targeting advanced driver assistance and full autonomy.
4. Strategic Expansion into 3D Motion Capture
Beyond automotive, Hesai announced plans to extend its lidar technology into 3D motion capture and spatial data analytics. The initiative leverages the company’s expertise in real-time point cloud acquisition to serve industrial automation, robotics and mapping applications. By diversifying its end markets, Hesai aims to capture additional revenue streams and solidify its position as a leading global lidar provider.
