Huntington Ingalls’ Newport News Shipbuilding completed acceptance sea trials for the John F. Kennedy (CVN 79), the second Ford-class carrier.
Sea trials tested ship operations with shipbuilders, Kennedy sailors, and Navy personnel participating.
The next step is preliminary acceptance, enabling the Navy to start underway test and evaluation of Kennedy’s unique systems.
