1. Quarterly results
Himax said Q3 revenue increased 8.5% sequentially to $246.80 million. Profit per diluted ADS exceeded company guidance, helped by lower operating expenses; gross margin was 34.20% and operating income was $22.70 million.
2. Fourth-quarter outlook
Himax expects Q4 2026 revenue to decline 22%-26% sequentially because of automotive order reductions. It forecasts gross margin to be flat to slightly higher and profit per diluted ADS of 4.5 to 6.5 cents.
3. Demand drivers
Q3 growth was driven by demand for automotive display ICs, higher shipments to leading smartphone brands and inventory buildup for new premium models. Robust automotive timing controller shipments and new project ramp-ups also contributed to non-driver segment growth.
