Shares of home improvement retailer Home Depot HD.N were up 1.4% at $342.59 in premarket trading.
The company beat Wall Street estimates for quarterly sales, as resilient demand from smaller repair-and-maintenance projects helped offset a sluggish housing market.
It posted second-quarter net sales of $47.86 billion versus analysts' estimate of $47.27 billion, according to data compiled by LSEG.
Second-quarter adjusted EPS came in at $4.92 versus $4.68 a year ago.
The company maintained its annual total sales growth outlook of 2.5% to 4.5% and said adjusted EPS is expected to grow about flat to 4%.
CEO Richard McPhail said, "We saw broad-based demand across the business as customers continued to engage in smaller projects."
As of the last close, the stock was down about 2% year to date.
