Homegate rent index shows Swiss asking rents rise 2.5% year on year in June 2026

Annual gains were strongest in Nidwalden at 8.3% and Graubünden at 6.7%, outpacing Zurich at 3.3%.
Among major cities, Lucerne led with a 1% monthly increase and 6% annual rise; Lugano fell 1.1% from a prior-month spike.
Swiss asking rents continue to rise
SMG Swiss Marketplace Group flagged a continued rise in Switzerland’s asking rents, with the Homegate rent index up 0.2% in June 2026 to 134.
National asking rents rose 2.5% year over year, signaling persistent upward pressure in newly let or re-let apartments.
