Honeywell Deploys Forge Platform to Double Dangote Refinery Capacity to 1.4M BPD

Honeywell will deploy its Performance+ Services and Forge platform across Dangote’s core processing units to increase high-octane fuel output, improve equipment reliability, and maximize asset value. It includes digital twin-based training for 3,000 operators and expands capacity from 650,000 to 1.4 million barrels per day within three years.

1. Strategic Digital Service Deployment

Honeywell will integrate its Performance+ Services and Forge platform into Dangote’s core processing units, applying advanced process control, real-time performance monitoring, and predictive analytics to boost high-octane fuel output, enhance equipment reliability, and optimize overall asset value.

2. Capacity Expansion Roadmap

The partnership aims to elevate the refinery’s throughput from 650,000 to 1.4 million barrels per day over the next three years by upgrading processing units, deploying automation enhancements, and refining feedstock flexibility for multiple fuel grades.

3. Operator Training via Digital Twins

Honeywell will implement digital twin-based Operator Training Simulators for over 3,000 Nigerian staff, enabling immersive, scenario-driven exercises that improve operational readiness, safety protocols, and workforce proficiency as production scales up.
