Honeywell Spins Off Aerospace, Retains Dow Slot as Honeywell Technologies
HON•Honeywell International will retain its spot in the Dow Jones Industrial Average under the new name Honeywell Technologies following the spin-off of its aerospace business, which will not be included. The change takes effect before the June 29 market open, ensuring continued exposure for Honeywell’s core operations in the DJIA.
1. Spin-Off and New Identity
Honeywell International will separate its aerospace division into a standalone public company named Honeywell Aerospace, trading under ticker HONA, while the parent company rebrands as Honeywell Technologies. All aerospace assets, liabilities and personnel will transfer to HONA, leaving Honeywell Technologies focused on automation, building technologies and safety solutions.
2. Continued Dow Jones Inclusion
Under its new name, Honeywell Technologies will remain a Dow Jones Industrial Average component effective before the June 29 market open. By excluding the spun-off aerospace unit, the company preserves its representation of industrial automation and building controls in the price-weighted index.
