Hooker Furnishings swings to FY27 Q2 profit of 1.67 million; net sales fall 8.7% to 63.25 million

Hooker Furniture returned to profit in fiscal 2027 second quarter, posting net income of $1.67 million, or $0.15 per diluted share.

Net sales fell 8.7% to $63.25 million, while operating income swung to $1.28 million.

Gross margin widened 6.9 percentage points to 31.8%, boosted by $7.9 million in tariff recoveries.

For the first half, net income swung to $2.73 million on net sales down 5.5% to $132.7 million.

Backlog rose 6.2% year over year to $42.42 million. Management flagged strong Margaritaville commitments, with shipments scaling into fiscal 2028.
