Horizon Aircraft, Marshall Aerospace Complete 6-DOF Flight Model for Cavorite X7
HOVR•Horizon Aircraft's partner Marshall Aerospace completed a six-degrees-of-freedom flight dynamics and control model for the Cavorite X7, marking the first safety-critical simulation for its hybrid-electric VTOL certification. The partnership accelerates system optimization by predicting aerodynamic and propulsion responses ahead of full-scale testing.
1. Partnership Delivers 6-DOF Flight Model
Marshall Aerospace engineers completed a six-degrees-of-freedom flight dynamics and control model for Horizon Aircraft’s Cavorite X7, integrating aerodynamic, propulsion and mass characteristics into a safety-critical simulation. This marks the first substantial deliverable under their engineering services agreement.
2. Support for Certification and Optimization
The new flight model enables Horizon to predict and refine control-system responses before physical testing, reducing development risk and accelerating certification efforts. Insights from the simulation will guide tuning of stability, control algorithms and performance parameters ahead of full-scale prototype flights.
