Houthis say they attacked Saudi oil pumping stations, Riyadh airport as fighting intensifies
USO•The Houthis said they attacked Saudi Arabia’s East-West crude oil pumping stations and Riyadh airport, while the Saudi-led coalition said it destroyed missile launchers in Yemen. Saudi Arabia has not confirmed the latest Houthi claims.
1. Attacks and responses
The Houthis said on Monday they attacked Saudi Arabia’s East-West crude oil pumping stations and Riyadh’s King Khalid International Airport. The Saudi-led coalition said it intercepted a missile fired toward Riyadh and destroyed two launchers in Sanaa; there was no immediate Saudi confirmation of the Houthi attacks.
2. Pipeline and conflict
The 1,200-kilometer East-West pipeline was temporarily shut in September after a drone attack that Riyadh and Baghdad said originated in Iraq. The coalition said on Monday it also destroyed five tunnels used to store ballistic missiles, four launchers and a missile storage facility in Yemen. The latest fighting has effectively ended a UN-brokered truce that had largely held since 2022.
