Hudbay lifts 2026 copper cash cost outlook to US$ (0.45)-(0.25) per lb

For Copper World Phase I, Hudbay forecast:
- USD 1.1 billion after-tax NPV at 8%
- 19.2% after-tax IRR
- USD 1.32 billion initial growth capex
- Average annual copper production of 85 kt over a 20-year mine life using a USD 3.75 per lb copper assumption.
Medium-term copper growth plan
Hudbay said its medium-term plan targets about 70% higher copper production once Copper World is in operation.
2026 guidance and copper cash costs
Hudbay reaffirmed 2026 full-year production guidance for all metals following Q2 copper output of 28 kt.
The company said its 2026 consolidated copper cash cost outlook tightened to USD $(0.45) to USD $(0.25) per lb from USD $(0.30) to USD $(0.10).
