HUTCHMED says savolitinib plus AstraZeneca’s Tagrisso lifts PFS and OS in Phase III lung cancer trial
HCM•Phase III SAFFRON results
HUTCHMED reported positive top-line Phase III SAFFRON results for savolitinib with osimertinib in MET-driven EGFR-mutated NSCLC progressing on osimertinib.
The combination improved progression-free survival and overall survival versus platinum-based doublet chemotherapy, supporting a biomarker-directed oral option in this setting.
Regulatory plans and safety
Data will be presented at a future medical meeting and submitted to global regulators, setting up potential registrations outside China.
Safety matched known profiles for each drug with no new safety signals, reducing execution risk for broader commercial rollout.
The regimen is already marketed in China for EGFR-mutated NSCLC with MET amplification following EGFR-TKI progression, based on the SACHI Phase III trial.
