HUTCHMED to Retire Director Mok After Approaching Nine-Year Cap, Bhatia Named Lead Director
Professor Mok Shu Kam will retire as Independent Non-executive Director at HUTCHMED’s AGM on May 12, 2026, ending over eight years on board committees. Renu Bhatia becomes Senior and Lead Independent Director and Nomination Committee chair; Chaohong Hu and Tan Shao Weng take on Technical and Sustainability Committee roles.
1. Intended Retirement of Professor Mok Shu Kam
Professor Mok Shu Kam will retire as an Independent Non-executive Director at the AGM on May 12, 2026, after more than eight years on the board. He will also step down from chairing and serving on all board committees in line with the nine-year tenure cap under Hong Kong Listing Rules.
2. New Board Committee Appointments
Dr Renu Bhatia will be appointed Senior and Lead Independent Non-executive Director and will chair the Nomination Committee. Dr Chaohong Hu will become Technical Committee chair, and Professor Tan Shao Weng will join the Sustainability Committee, all effective at the conclusion of the AGM, subject to re-election.
