Hydro One seeks Ontario regulator approval for CAD 1.3 billion North Shore Link transmission line

Hydro One filed a joint application with Ontario’s energy regulator to build the North Shore Link 230-kV transmission line.

• The project targets a new connection from Mississagi TS near Wharncliffe to Third Line TS in Sault Ste. Marie.
• The investment is sized at CAD 1.3 billion, with an in-service date targeted for 2029.
• The plan includes upgrades at Mississagi TS, expansion at Algoma TS, and Third Line TS upgrades to be managed by Hydro One Sault Ste. Marie.
• Nine First Nations may take up to a 50% equity stake in the transmission line component under the partnership model.
