HyOrc restructures Portugal joint venture, limits funding obligation to initial methanol module
HYOR•Portugal joint venture restructuring reduces HyOrc funding burden
HyOrc restructured its Portugal joint venture with MO.RE.DA. Oils, cutting its capital needs for scaling green methanol operations.
The funding obligation is now capped at the initial 1-tonne-per-day module, which has already been fully funded. Financing for later expansion will shift to the joint venture.
The change follows a EUR 6.7 million EU STEP grant for the next phase, which targets 35 tonnes-per-day RDF processing and 8 tonnes-per-day methanol output.
Factory testing for the initial system is targeted by the end of September 2026, ahead of shipment, installation and commissioning in Portugal.
