Hyperscale Data Begins Production of First 30 OPR-R2 Humanoids for Michigan Campus
GPUS•Hyperscale Data’s Omnipresent Robotics has started producing 30 OPR-R2 humanoid units, with assembly and deployment at its 100,000-sq-ft Michigan AI data center slated for Q3 2026. This marks phase one of a 143-unit rollout to support embodied AI model training, facility operations and simulation validation.
1. Production Launch for OPR-R2 Robots
Omnipresent Robotics has initiated manufacturing of 30 humanoid OPR-R2 robots through its production partner, scheduling receipt and assembly at the Michigan AI data center campus in Q3 2026. This launch represents the first phase of a broader 143-robot program designed to integrate robotics into data center operations.
2. Michigan Campus Deployment and Facilities
The initial 30 units will operate within a 100,000-square-foot Robotics Research, Testing and Innovation Center at the Michigan Campus, working alongside AI infrastructure personnel. They will assist with data collection, model training, simulation validation and day-to-day facility operations to enhance operational efficiency and innovation.
3. Embodied AI Strategy and Future Rollout
Hyperscale Data is combining humanoid robotics with NVIDIA-based high-performance computing to drive embodied AI applications and autonomous workflows. Following the initial phase, the company plans to deploy the remaining 113 robots to generate large-scale real-world training data and accelerate the development of next-generation AI systems.
