1. AI-Powered Fan Features
IBM and the All England Lawn Tennis Club introduced two watsonx AI capabilities: Key Moments, which analyzes current and historical data to explain momentum shifts in each gentlemen’s and ladies’ singles match, and Match Chat, an interactive assistant delivering conversational match summaries, stats and multimedia responses via the Wimbledon app and website.
2. Digital Platform Modernization
The Wimbledon digital ecosystem was rebuilt on a modern architecture informed by fan and stakeholder data analysis. IBM Bob, an AI-powered development accelerator, created a knowledge graph of over 15,000 archived assets and completed asset extraction in 47 minutes—work that traditionally required months and a specialist team.
3. Engagement Impact and Partnership
In 2025, these AI and platform innovations drove a 16% year-on-year increase in digital engagement and a 39% rise in myWIMBLEDON registrations. This marks over 35 years of collaboration, with IBM’s hybrid cloud and AI capabilities underpinning Wimbledon’s ongoing digital evolution.
