IDT published NRSInsights data showing same-store sales across its independent retail POS network rose 0.1% year over year in September 2026. Units sold fell 2%, and transactions per store dropped 3.4%.
2. Prices and regional results
Average prices for the top 500 items rose 2.1% year over year. Same-store sales fell 1.3% from August, while sales for the three months ended Sept. 30 rose 0.5% from a year earlier. Washington, D.C., and Los Angeles had the largest regional declines; Chicago and Detroit posted slight gains.
