On May 11, 2026, IFF inaugurated its 650-square-meter Vanilla Innovation Center in Toamasina, Madagascar, positioning the site near major vanilla growing and post-harvest processing areas to streamline on-origin research and development activities.

The facility consolidates lab analysis, scalable extraction rigs, a flavor creation unit and The Bloomery research greenhouse, enabling comprehensive evaluation of vanilla varieties, extraction methods and prototype applications for dairy, bakery and confectionery sectors.
