IHG•Two-hotel franchise deal launches IHG's franchise model in Malaysia
IHG signed a two-hotel portfolio deal with King Park Hotel to launch its franchise model in Malaysia.
The agreement debuts Garner Hotels in Malaysia via the 202-room Garner Hotel Kota Kinabalu, a rebrand of King Park Hotel Kota Kinabalu.
Garner Hotel Kota Kinabalu is set to open 106 rooms in 2027, followed by 96 rooms in a second phase in 2029.
Holiday Inn Express Tawau, a 140-room conversion of King Park Hotel Tawau, is scheduled to open in 2028 following refurbishment.
The signings lift IHG's Malaysia footprint to more than 20 open and pipeline hotels, strengthening its presence in Sabah.
