WASHINGTON, Sept. 10 (Reuters) - The International Monetary Fund on Thursday welcomed plans for U.S. President Donald Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping to meet later this month, saying any moves to resolve tensions would be good for both countries and the global economy.
"We think it's very important that the leaders of the two largest economies are meeting, engaging," IMF spokesperson Julie Kozack told reporters at a regular IMF briefing.
