Independence Realty Trust agreed to acquire Centerspace via a two-step merger involving Centerspace and its operating partnership.
IRT elected an alternative structure for the company-level merger, shifting the surviving entity to an IRT merger subsidiary.
The change was formalized in a Sept. 22, 2026 amendment, following the original merger agreement signed Sept. 8, 2026.
The operating partnership merger structure was not changed under the amendment.
