India’s First Post-Quantum Cryptography Personalization Center Opens at Sanand OSAT Facility
SEALSQ and Kaynes Semicon inaugurated a state-of-the-art OSAT facility in Sanand, Gujarat, embedding India’s first Post-Quantum Cryptography Personalization Center for QS7001 microcontrollers, attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The center will enable on-site generation of quantum-safe keys, X.509 certificate issuance, and secure chip personalization at industrial scale.
1. Inauguration of Sanand OSAT Facility
Kaynes Semicon unveiled its new Outsourced Semiconductor Assembly and Test facility in Sanand, Gujarat, with SEALSQ’s Post-Quantum Cryptography Personalization Center embedded in the first phase and attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
2. Launch of Post-Quantum Personalization Center
The center will support end-to-end personalization of QS7001 microcontrollers, performing on-site TRNG key generation, X.509 certificate signing, algorithm parameter loading, and secure lifecycle provisioning in a FIPS 140-3 Level 3 environment.
3. QS7001 Hardware Security Capabilities
SEALSQ’s flagship QS7001 chip integrates NIST-standardized ML-KEM, ML-DSA, SLH-DSA algorithms alongside AES-256, RSA-4096, and ECC P-384, plus tamper detection, automatic key zeroization, secure non-volatile storage, hardware accelerators, and secure boot.
4. Strategic Impact on India’s Sovereignty
By localizing quantum-safe chip personalization, the facility removes dependency on foreign provisioning, strengthens India’s IoT, digital identity, 5G, and critical infrastructure security, and positions the country as a regional PQC hub.
